Aqua Medic's AT-Control System

An electronic centralised control unit for aquariums, terrariums or other applications

AT-Control

AT-Control can measure and control

  • pH
  • ORP (Redox potential)
  • temperature
  • conductivity
  • water level and using the numerous timed circuits
  • lighting
  • dosing etc.

Programming and control can also be undertaken using a PC via a USB connection.

The system is modular in arrangement. It can be enlarged from a basic module to a complete control unit for several aquariums. All the modules are interconnected via USB ports. The data can be downloaded to a PC and shown graphically.

Base unit:

The Base unit consists of the Controller containing the microprocessor and the display and a Power Box. Also included are an interface for PC connection, a CD with the software and a temperature probe.

The Power Box is configured with 6 mains power outlets, seven USB sockets and direct connections for a level and a temperature probe. All other probes are connected via the USB ports and a corresponding Interface Box to the Power Box. If more than seven connections are needed, a USB hub can be added.

Several Power Boxes can be connected to one Controller via the USB ports. This enables several aquariums with many different probes to be connected to one AT control unit. Set points can be programmed as fixed points or as arithmetic curves so, for example, temperature can be programmed to follow a day/night curve and regulated with heaters and chillers.

Special accessories:

Users with a broadband telephone connection can connect the AT control via an ethernet interface to the internet. The AT control can then be controlled or programmed from any remote computer with internet access.

Using the optional SMS interface, various alarm notifications can be sent directly to a mobile phone.

pH monitor and controller

The pH controller 2001 C is a precision instrument to control the pH value in aquaria.

In combination with a CO2 system and a solenoid valve, the pH can be maintained at a constant level, and the CO2 supply to aquatic plants or into a Calcium Reactor can be controlled.

The unit is supplied with a large LED display and the control range is digitally adjustable from pH 3.5 to 10.5.

The pH controller has a BNC connection for pH electrodes. The use of an original Aqua Medic plastic shafted electrode is recommended.

mV controller

Redox-potential (ORP) monitor and controller

The mV Controller 2001 C is designed for monitoring and controlling the redox-potential (or ORP, oxidation-reduction-potential) in aquaria.

The unit has a broad controlling range from a -500 to a +500 mV and a measuring range from -1000 to +1000 mV.

It can be used to control the supply of ozone in saltwater aquaria and/or for the control of the nitrate removal in anaerobic biological filters (Aqua Medic Nitratereductor).

The unit is supplied with a BNC connection for the mV probe. The use of an original Aqua Medic plastic shafted electrode is recommended.

LF controller

Conductivity monitor and controller

The salt content of water can be determined by measuring the electrical conductivity. A special feature of the LF 2001 C conductivity monitor and controller is the broad measurement and control range, which is divided into 2 bands: from 0 to 2000 µS, the unit is used for monitoring desalinated water and fresh water, and in the range 0 to 200 mS, it is used for brackish and salt water.

The unit can therefore be used for the control of reverse osmosis units, for monitoring breeding tanks with soft water, and for the control of the salt content in marine aquaria.

The unit is supplied with a directly connected, salt water resistant graphite electrode.

T controller

Temperature monitor and controller

The T controller is available in 2 versions: T controller HC for the control of heating systems and T controller CC for the control of cooling units.

The control range varies from 15.5 to 50°C in the case of the HC and from 0°C - 40°C in the case of the CC, with a precision of ۪0.1°C.

The maximum load is 1000 watts for heaters and 600 watts for coolers.

The units are supplied with a waterproof temperature probe.

pH computer

Microprocessor controlled pH monitor and controller

The Aqua Medic pH Computer utilises a modern microprocessor, which provides high precision measurement and control.

The membrane front provides waterproof touch keys with which to set the operating range and calibrate the electrode.

The pH Computer is used to control precise values of pH in the aquarium or the Aqua Medic Calcium Reactor.

The switching band (hysteresis) is adjustable over a wide range and the control direction can be set upwards or downwards. The status of the direction of control and the output are shown on LEDs.

The computer can switch up to 500 watts using the supplied external electrical socket. When the calibration key has been selected the unit will automatically calibrate itself to the electrode.

A plastic shafted pH electrode with BNC fitting and the correct calibration fluids are included.

mV computer

Microprocessor controlled redox-potential (ORP) monitor and controller

The Aqua Medic mV Computer uses the same microprocessor technique as the pH Computer. Waterproof touch keys are used to set the required values and calibrate the electrode.

The mV Computer is ideal for controlling anaerobic biological filters such as the Aqua Medic Nitratereductor which have negative redox potential or it can control the supply of ozone to the aquarium, or monitor the aquarium water's redox-potential.

All these functions are possible due to the computer's broad measurement and control range of -500 to +1000 mV. The direction of control can be set upwards or downwards. The status of the direction of control and the output are shown on LED´s.

A plastic shafted mV electrode with a BNC fitting and calibration fluids are included.

T computer-set

Microprocessor controlled temperature monitor and controller

The Temperature Computer is a precise multi-functional, temperature controller. It includes a digital temperature sensor.

The mode of operation can be set using the function keys, either as a heater or cooler controller. In "heating" mode, the controlled temperature is adjusted to the set value using a pulse-packet system with an accuracy of ۪.1°C. In "cooler" mode, the accuracy is ۪,5°C. The maximum operating power is 1000 watts for heaters and 600 watts for coolers.

Test Fluids

Electrode calibration fluids

The accuracy of all electrodes depends upon their calibration. To ensure accurate readings, all electrodes need to be calibrated at regular intervals. To ensure that the fluid values used to calibrate the electrodes remain constant, regular replacement of these fluids should occur.

The following calibration fluids are available:

1. pH: pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9

2. Redox potential: 230 mV

3. Conductivity: 250 µS, 500 µS, 35 mS, 50 mS

4. Refilling fluid for pH and redox electrodes

5. Cleaning fluid for all electrodes
