Eco-Coolers - Innovative Technology (Suitable for Fresh or Salt Water)

This innovative Deltec solution reduces the water temperature effectively and economically in modern salt and fresh water aquariums.

The requirement of water movement and light to keep salt water invertebrates and fish thriving necessitates pumps and lights which create heat in the water column. This does not make for a healthy and stable aquarium environment and leads to coral bleaching and stressed fish.

The ECO cooler is environmentally-friendly and economical and it can be used for both salt and fresh water aquariums.

The operating principle of the cooler borrows technology from the water cooling towers used in industrial applications. Water from the aquarium is forced to evaporate which draws latent heat from the water thus cooling it down.

Eco coolers are incredibly cheap to run and are much quieter than a refrigerant cooler. For example, to achieve 950 watts of cooling a refrigerant would use 570 watts of electricity. For the same degree of cooling, the Eco-cooler uses only 44 watts of electricity.

It is also possible to use the ECO cooler in conjunction with a refrigerant cooler thereby reducing the size of the electricity bill substantially and being secure in the knowledge that even on the very hottest days of the year the temperature in your aquarium will remain stable.

Three sizes are available:

61050 - 700W cooling power for tanks up to 600 litres.

61051 - 1000W cooling power for tanks up to 1000 litres.

61052 - 1800W cooling power for tanks up to 2000 litres.

Digital Thermostat

All Deltec Eco-Coolers are available with an optional Digital Thermostat Controller.

The digital read out shows a 1% rise or fall. The variation between on/off is 1/10 of a degree with a time delay of 1 minute. Its control range is -19° to 69° cooling only. Its capacity is 1,000 watts; above this wattage a contactor should be used.
