General information about protein skimmersA skimmer works by pushing air bubbles through water containing waste materials which are attracted to the air water interface and flow upwards to the surface where they can be collected. Larger volumes of air and smaller bubbles allow more surface area to attract the proteins and therefore make the skimmer more efficient. Deltec have designed a unique system to do just this with their highly efficient skimmers that remove the majority of waste before it breaks down thus requiring less biological filtration. The largest of the single
pump skimmers, the 850 is ideal for people with sufficient height inside or beside the tank or cabinet. It is the first of the models to
be fitted with the more powerful Eheim pump which is required to handle the longer column height. 
This skimmer is a powerful
solution to waste removal for people with standard height cabinets as the unit stands only 610mm high. 
This skimmer is the most compact of the higher
performance models. Designed for larger tanks with standard height cabinets, the unit stands only 610mm high.
